Tawâw Meaning
Tawâw (ᑕᐚᐤ) (pronounced TAH-wow) is a word from nêhiyawêwin (ᓀᐦᐃᔭᐍᐏᐣ), the Cree language.
It carries a message of welcome and inclusion.
In English, tawâw is often translated as “there is room” or “you are welcome here.”
But in nêhiyaw (ᓀᐦᐃᔭᐤ) culture, it goes deeper, it’s an invitation to come in, take part, and share space.
When someone says tawâw, they’re saying “there’s room for you.”
